Mopar Engines West was started by Richard Nedbal when he retired after 25 years in the high tech software field. A Mopar fan since 1964, Richard did fuel injection research at Carnegie Mellon Institute and was on the original design team for several EFI systems in the 1970s. Richard is an active drag racer and In the process, he merges high tech computer simulation, EFI and high performance engine building. Richard is still very active at Mopar Engines West and the merger has allowed him to focus on the engine simulation, cam selection and he does all the EFI training, engineering, and tuning.
At that time Mopar Engines West used the services of Dave's Engine Machining in Newark California.
Early in 2005 Richard and Dave Timmons decided to merge Mopar Engine West with Dave's Engine Machining.

320 HP Slant-6 motor.
Rich has been designing the electronics around EFI systems since the early 1970s and racing since the mid 60s. |

| Dave Timmons started Dave's Engine
Machining in 1984 and has been an engine builder for about 25 years and has
built just about everything from Diesels, Chevys, Fords and his favorite - alcohol
blower motors. Dave does most of the engine assembly, is responsible for
quality assurance, and he manages the dyno lab.
Here he is at the Engine Challenge with Our Elvis motor Angie nicknamed "Hound Dog" |

| His daughter Angie Bolla, is our cylinder head specialist. Angie has been porting heads for 19 years and graduated from the well known legend: Joe Mondello's head porting school where she was given her PHD (Porting Head Doctor) degree in 1998. She ":does it all" from guides, seats, springs, retainers, locks, etc., through the head assembly, and all our race porting. It's fun to see the look on customer's faces when they find out that their heads, that just won them a heads up race, were ported "by a girl". | ![]() |
| Daniel (he likes to be called Daniel-San, which is Japanese for "Daniel the Guilty") is out teardown expert. A jack of all trades, Daniel assists in all facets of engine building. But most importantly he takes the heat if a tool is missing. | ![]() |
| Roger is our chief machinist, ran his own high performance auto parts store, and we think he has been around engine machining since about the turn of the century. Actually more like 30 years, but he is well known in the field of building Sprint Car motors. | ![]() |
Linda is our office manager, accountant, and she manages to corral all the cats, and if you ever tried to herd cats - you know THAT'S TOUGH!
